On the 24th of November Mainline Steam's Ja1240 made its first mainline excursion since the completion of its re-build. This was the first time it had been on the mainline since 1971. It was a joint excursion with the Railway Enthusiasts Society using their carriages. The day was a great success.
The last trip to Arthurs Pass for our 2011 season should have been on the 21st of August. Unfortunately due to extreme weather conditions we had to postpone the trip until the 11th of September. Although the weather wasn't the best the trip went very well. Here are some wonderful photographs from the excursion.
